Refinishing vs. Stripping Chemicals

Question:

What is the difference between stripping and refinishing chemicals? Can you give a few examples of what products you would try?

Answer:

A refinisher is a strong solvent that removes surface layers of varnished finish.

A chemical stripper is something with ethyl ketone or ethyl ester. It can strip finished down to the bare wood.

The products depend on the task, so go to your local paint store. You’ll see the difference!
